Dr. Shagufta Anjum is an Assistant Professor of English at Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India. She has 15 years of teaching experience, and she has been a faculty member at AMU for 13 years. Her research interests encompass Fiction, Feminism, and Post-Colonialism, reflected in her numerous publications and conference presentations. At AMU, Dr Anjum teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervises research in Indian, British, and American Literature, and has designed syllabi for the undergraduate courses ‘Indian and Western Aesthetics’ and ‘Language in Theory’. She actively contributes to university life as a co-convener of college societies and Fest, a member of various committees, and an Assistant Superintendent of Examinations. Dr Anjum’s commitment to women’s empowerment extends to her role as caretaker of Women’s College NCC, 3 UP Battalion. Her diverse roles underscore her dedication to academic excellence, student development, and social progress at AMU and beyond.

Dr. Shagufta Anjum presented a research paper titled “The Theme of Attachment-Detachment in Shree Madhbhagavad Gita: A Study from Linguistic and Philosophical Perspective” and chaired a conference session at the 37th International RAIS Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities, held on August 8–9, 2024, at The Erdman Center in Princeton.
