Dr. Yuying Shen is an associate professor of sociology at Norfolk State University. Her scholarly interests include Social Data Analysis, Socio-Cybersecurity, Inequality in Health & Health Care, and Environmental Sociology. She has received funding by the National Science Foundation, United Negro College Fund, Hampton Roads Biomedical Research Consortium, International Sociological Association, and so on.  Her research has appeared in Social Science & Medicine, The Journal of Gerontology: Series B Social Sciences, Global Public Health, Current Sociology, and elsewhere.  She currently is co-chair of the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) Division of Health, Health Policy, & Health Services.
